Injuries & Medical Attention

Each year during the dance festival there are several members of dance teams who are in need of medical attention, either due to sickness or injury. It is our concern that these people receive the attention needed in the most economical and orderly manner possible.

It is not our intention to refuse medical attention to anyone because of the inability to pay, however, it is our concern that these individuals be as responsible as possible for their own medical expenses. Please contact Chris Mann or Julie Coray, our festival directors, PRIOR to seeking medical attention.

The following procedure for obtaining medical attention has been established. Things should work fairly smoothly if these procedures are followed closely.

  1. By contract, each team is required to have access to a Visa or MasterCard. The expenses incurred should be applied to the credit card, or if the person is able to pay with cash, then they should take care of the expenses. The individual or team should be responsible to submit the proper insurance forms for reimbursement.
  2. In case of an emergency, the person should be taken to the Emergency Room or contact the Emergency Medical Services by dialing 911. If the situation permits, Urgent Care facilities are a less expensive alternative.
  3. In case of a non-emergency situation, the person housing the injured or sick individual should contact their personal physician, dentist, etc., and make an appointment with that physician or whichever physician is available. (Be sure the sick or injured individual has cash or a credit card to pay the medical bill.) If not, contact festival directors. Please do not send the dancers to the doctor, dentist, or pharmacist without first notifying your team guides and consulting with the medical contact.

If you have any questions or problems, please contact the festival directors.
